TROPHY BISON HUNTS

We have some fantastic specials running on bison right now, both in Texas and in South Dakota. You’re not likely to find a better price on a trophy bull buffalo anywhere. Winter is the best time to harvest a bison for optimal coat quality. Check out the info for each of our bison hunts below.

Texas Trophy Bison Hunts

Price: $5,500

These sizeable trophy bulls range freely across 800 acres in North Central Texas, between Ranger and Breckenridge.

The rocky, rugged terrain and brush hide most of the herd at any given time. The herd doesn’t get worked like cattle. They don’t have brands or ear tags, and we’re not even sure exactly how many are on the property, but there should be about 6 nice bulls on quota for harvest this season.

The hunt can be as easy as riding around in the truck or side by side until you harvest one, or as hard as beating the brush African style until you turn up a good bull. Archery hunts are available, but you will be accompanied closely by a backup rifle, as some bulls on the ranch have shown aggression and charged in the past.

This is a great option for those looking to fill the freezer with clean, healthy, organic, hormone-free grass fed meat and put a prime head on the wall or rug on the floor. If you’ve ever shopped around for bison, you know this price is a heck of a deal and will likely be about what you’d pay for comparable meat at the store.

The carcass will be loaded whole via tractor onto a trailer and transported to the nearest meat processor, if you so choose. In the past, the processor has processed the entire buffalo for $900, plus a $250 gutting fee.

South Dakota Super Trophy Bison Hunts

These elite level trophy bulls are true giants, tipping the scales at well over a ton each, with excellent coats and giant mopped heads. The harvest will take place on over 15,000 acres of historic bison range in South Dakota.

This experience will harken back to the old days of settlers hunting bison on the open prairie. An old school horseback bison hunt may be arranged at a modest additional fee of $1,000.
