Alaskan Reindeer

Hunter with large antlered deer on grass in foggy field

Price: $9,450 (including trophy fee, no size limit)

This hunt is one of the best values you will find anywhere on the globe, as it presents a very real opportunity to harvest a 400+ inch animal (and some much, much larger) in a remote corner of the world that few people ever have the opportunity to visit. We're booking on behalf of the reindeer managers of the local Aleut tribal organization, who will host and guide you on your trip. The animals they harvest are much larger than those taken by other operations, at a considerably lower price.

Though they are the same species as caribou, these animals are referred to as reindeer due to their reintroduction from Siberia to the Pribilof Islands over a century ago. Since then, they’ve formed a wild, free-ranging herd renowned for its unmatched trophy quality and population density. Reindeer have the largest antler-to-body size ratio of any species, and the Pribilofs are home to some of the largest-racked specimens in existence.

The Hunt Experience

Necessary Management:
A controlled quota ensures the herd remains healthy and prevents overpopulation, preserving the islands' ecosystem. You'll be hunting a mature, old bull of exceptional size — a worthy quarry that presents both challenge and reward.

Guided by Local Experts:
We are advertising this trip on behalf of the local Alaska Native tribe, and it will take place on Native lands, fully authorized by the official tribal organization. DIY hunts are unfortunately no longer permitted in this location, ensuring that all hunts are conducted through proper channels with an experienced local Native guide.

Hunting Methods:

  • Rifle hunting is recommended for the best chances of success in the open, windy landscape.

  • Archery hunts can be arranged upon request for those seeking an added challenge.

  • Hunts are adaptable for various fitness levels and experience.

You’ll navigate the rugged terrain on four-wheelers to locate herds, followed by a strategic stalk on foot for the final approach.

Unique Advantages

No Caribou Tag Required.
Since these reindeer are managed by native tribes and not regulated as game by the state of Alaska, no caribou tag is needed — saving you an extra $800 compared to traditional caribou hunts.

World Class Animals
You won't find another operation that can put you on caribou or reindeer this large with this level of consistency.

Halibut Fishing Add-On.
Enhance your adventure with world-class halibut fishing for a small additional fee. This remote fishery is untouched by mainstream tourism, boasting enormous catches, including halibut up to 385 pounds.

Travel & Lodging

Lodging:
Comfortable indoor accommodations are included, complete with hot showers and electricity.

Regular commercial flights run three times per week from Anchorage to the Pribilof Islands, with round-trip fares typically ranging from $1,000 to $1,500. You are responsible to book your own flights, and it is not included in the price.

Pro Tip: While the hunt itself can be completed in just a few days, it’s wise to plan for a week-long trip. Weather on the islands is unpredictable, and flights are occasionally delayed due to foggy conditions.
